Vadamvali (Tug of War) is a popular entertainment sport seen during Onam celebrations in Kerala where the strength of two groups is tested. When team strength is combined with wit and vigour, a thick rope tugged by two teams in opposite directions, becomes one of the best games that can create much excitement and entertainment for the players as well as the spectators in a short period of time.

The evening begins with a General Body Meeting from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, where we’ll discuss future planning, gather member suggestions, and present our financial updates. This is a great opportunity for all members to contribute ideas and stay informed about the association’s direction.

From 7:00 PM onwards, the night comes alive with 14 vibrant cultural performances, including solo and group dance and music, along with a special speech by our Chief Guest, sponsor shoutouts, and a preview of upcoming events. A Kerala-style buffet will be served between 8:00 and 10:00 PM, featuring both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes rich in authentic flavors. To wrap up the night, join us from 10:00 to 11:00 PM on the open dance floor for some fun and celebration! Entry is free for TBMA members with ID (which will be scanned at the entrance). Let’s come together and make it a night to remember!

The event showcases Kerala’s rich heritage through music, dance, and sports. The Thunder Bay Malayalee Association celebrates Onam with great enthusiasm, uniting the community in a spirit of joy, tradition, and togetherness.
